Senior Building Conservation Adviser, Historic England
Clara Willett has 25 years’ experience in architectural conservation; first as a hands-on conservator and manager in private practice and then with Historic England (formerly English Heritage) since 2003. As a building conservation advisor in the Technical Conservation Team she leads on masonry conservation advice and research, as well as contributing to guidance and training on the same topic. For 6 years, she managed a national training scheme, which provided on the job training in traditional building skills. She is currently managing the Strategic Stone Study to complete the Building Stone Database for England. Clara is a member of the Churches Building Council’s Sculpture and Furnishings committee and the Stone Federation’s Heritage Stone Group. She is an accredited member of Icon and the IHBC.
