Chloe Newman - Webb Yates

Chloe Newman

Associate, Webb Yates

Chloe began her career with Webb Yates after graduating in 2014 and is highly experienced chartered engineer. While working with us, she has fulfilled key roles on a number of notable projects, including the first new river crossing in central Bath for a century, a Stirling Prize and Structural Award shortlisted mixed-use building with load bearing stone façade, and the upgrading of facilities at the Grade 1 listed Highgate Cemetery. Her experience covers a range of complex projects including the construction of basements, lightweight temporary structures, mass timber frames, refurbishments, and new build schemes. She approaches engineering problems with an imaginative mindset and attention to detail and applies this to all her projects.

She enjoys combining her architectural background and technical engineering knowledge to create elegant and optimal structural solutions for her projects, working collaboratively and creatively as a key member of design teams. She is passionate about sustainability and has gained significant experience designing with low carbon materials such as timber and structural stone, including ground-breaking composite solutions. Chloe is part of our internal climate action taskforce and is instrumental in the evolution and implementation of our sustainability targets.

Chloe gained her bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Western Australia. During studies, she undertook a concrete shrinkage testing project for her thesis and completed a vacation work program with a Perth-based engineering consultancy.
