
Bernard Burns
Bernard has over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry, having initially trained as a Carpenter and Joiner in the mid-70s. He then joined a long-established construction company in 1981 where he gained valuable training in Project and General Management. Bernard became a General Manager in 1991, rising to Managing Director of a respected stonemasonry company in 2006.
He has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the Conservation and Restoration of our Built Heritage, as well as in the design of stone buildings and structures. Bernard joined Szerelmey in 2014 and has been responsible for New Business Development across Szerelmey. He provides technical advice and client design team liaison functions within Szerelmey and carries out Continual Professional Development seminars for Designers, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers and Project Managers. He is a member of the executive committee of the Stone Federation GB and is Chair of the Stone Heritage Group, as well as a member of the Worshipful Company of Masons and a freeman of the City of London.
